Preparation
- Measure the flour into a quart-size mason jar and layer the sugar, baking powder, and salt on top.
- Seal the jar to preserve the dry mixture.
Mixing
- In a stand mixer bowl, add the softened butter and mix on medium for 1 to 2 minutes.
- Add the dry mixture to the bowl and combine for 30 seconds.
- Introduce the milk, oil, vanilla extract, and eggs, and whisk on medium-high for 1 minute.
Baking
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Pour the batter into prepared pans, filling them just below the rim.
- Bake until golden: 20 to 25 minutes for 8-inch pans, 15 minutes for cupcakes, and 30 to 38 minutes for a 9x13 dish.
- Allow the cakes to cool before frosting.
