Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix together the flour, coconut oil (or vegan butter), powdered sugar, and salt until it achieves a crumbly texture.
- Gradually add in the cold water until the dough forms.
- Dust your countertop with flour, roll out the dough, and press it into a tart pan, pricking the bottom with a fork.
Filling
- In a separate bowl, toss the sliced apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice.
- Arrange the apple mixture over the dough in the tart pan.
Baking
- Bake for 30-40 minutes until the apples are tender and the crust is golden brown.
- Allow the tart to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Slice and serve warm or at room temperature. A scoop of coconut ice cream or vegan caramel sauce makes it even better. Store in an airtight container for up to three days, or in the fridge for a week.
