  • 1 pie crust 1 unbaked pie crust Use a homemade or pre-made pie crust.
  • 1 cup 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted Ensure butter is melted but not too hot.
  • 3 large 3 large eggs Add eggs one at a time.
  • 1 teaspoon 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup 1 cup chopped pecans Consider toasting for extra flavor.
  • 1 cup 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips Melt gently before adding.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the sugar, corn syrup, and melted butter until well mixed.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, folding gently into the mixture.
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gently fold in the chopped pecans and semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  6. Pour the filling into the unbaked pie crust.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes until the filling is set and the crust is golden brown.
  2. Allow the pie to cool before slicing.

Notes

Serve pie warm, optionally with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 4 days, tightly wrapped.
