Ingredients
  

Cookie Dough
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Allow butter to come to room temperature for smoother mixing.
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Food coloring (various colors) Use as per preference for each dough portion.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, cream together softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Add the vanilla extract and mix until combined.
  3. Gradually mix in the flour and salt until a soft dough forms.
  4. Divide the dough into equal portions and add food coloring to each, mixing until combined.
  5. Roll each colored dough into logs and stack them together.
  6. Wrap the log in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least one hour.
Baking
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Slice the chilled dough log into rounds and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  3. Bake for 10-12 minutes until lightly golden.
  4. Allow cookies to cool before serving.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for several days to keep cookies fresh. Experiment with different flavors and colors for diversity.
