  • 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 bag (10 ounces) miniature marshmallows
  • 6 cups rice cereal measured by gently scooping

Preparation
  1. Spray an 8×8-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray and set aside.
  2. In a large pot over medium heat, melt the butter.
  3. Add the sweetened condensed milk and stir to combine. Bring to a simmer, stirring constantly to prevent burning.
  4. Add the marshmallows, stirring frequently until melted.
  5. Remove the pot from heat and fold in the rice cereal with a clean rubber spatula until well coated.
  6. Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish and press into an even layer.
  7. Allow the bars to cool to room temperature before cutting and serving.
Serving
  1. Let the bars rest until fully set. Use a lightly buttered or sprayed sharp knife to make clean slices.
  2. Serve on a simple plate to appreciate their pale golden surface and glossy sheen.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. For longer storage, freeze individual bars wrapped tightly for up to 1 month and thaw at room temperature before serving.
