Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the egg yolks, vanilla, and sugar, whisking until smooth.
  2. Fold in the corn flour until well combined.
  3. Gradually stir in the milk, ensuring there are no lumps.
Cooking
  1. Transfer the mixture to a pan and simmer over medium heat, stirring continuously until it thickens (about 5 to 7 minutes).
  2. Once thickened, add the butter and stir until melted.
Setting
  1. Prepare a 6-inch greased pan with baking paper.
  2. Pour the mixture into the pan and cool at room temperature, then refrigerate for 2 hours or until set.
  3. Cut the chilled dessert into cubes and coat with desiccated coconut.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. For extra flavor, infuse the milk with spices or use heavy cream for a richer taste.
