Preparation
- Slice leftover brisket into thin strips.
- Sauté onions and bell peppers in a skillet until soft.
- Add the brisket to the skillet and heat through.
- Toast hoagie rolls lightly.
- Layer the brisket mixture into the hoagie rolls.
- Top with provolone cheese and melt under a broiler.
- Spread mayonnaise on the inside of the rolls, if desired.
- Serve hot.
Notes
Serve while the cheese is still silky and the rolls are warm. Pair with a pickles or slaw to balance the richness.
