Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb Leftover brisket Thinly sliced
  • 4 rolls Hoagie rolls Lightly toasted
  • 8 oz Provolone cheese For melting
  • 1 medium Onion Sliced
  • 1 medium Bell pepper Sliced
  • 3 tbsp Mayonnaise Optional for spreading
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Slice leftover brisket into thin strips.
  2. Sauté onions and bell peppers in a skillet until soft.
  3. Add the brisket to the skillet and heat through.
  4. Toast hoagie rolls lightly.
  5. Layer the brisket mixture into the hoagie rolls.
  6. Top with provolone cheese and melt under a broiler.
  7. Spread mayonnaise on the inside of the rolls, if desired.
  8. Serve hot.

Notes

Serve while the cheese is still silky and the rolls are warm. Pair with a pickles or slaw to balance the richness.
