Method
Baking the Cake
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix the red velvet cake mix, vegetable oil, eggs, and water until smooth.
- Pour the mixture into a greased cake pan and bake for 25-30 minutes.
- Once done, allow the cake to cool before slicing it in half horizontally.
Preparing the Cream Cheese Mixture
- In a separate bowl, beat together the cream cheese and powdered sugar until creamy.
- Add the vanilla extract and mix well.
Assembly
- Place the bottom half of the cooled cake on a serving dish and spread half of the cream cheese mixture over it.
- Top with half of the sliced strawberries.
- Place the second half of the cake on top and repeat the layering with the remaining cream cheese mixture and strawberries.
- Chill the assembled cake in the refrigerator for 3-4 hours before serving.
- Drizzle with chocolate syrup just before serving if desired.
Notes
Ensure cream cheese is at room temperature for a smooth mixture. For added flavor, consider using almond extract or crushed cookies as a topping.
