Ingredients
  

For the Cake
  • 1 box red velvet cake mix Follow package instructions for baking.
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup water Use as directed on cake mix package.
For the Cream Cheese Mixture
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened Bring to room temperature.
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups whipped cream For layering and serving.
For the Assembly
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced Reserve some for garnish.
  • to taste chocolate syrup Optional for drizzling.

Method
 

Baking the Cake
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the red velvet cake mix, vegetable oil, eggs, and water until smooth.
  3. Pour the mixture into a greased cake pan and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  4. Once done, allow the cake to cool before slicing it in half horizontally.
Preparing the Cream Cheese Mixture
  1. In a separate bowl, beat together the cream cheese and powdered sugar until creamy.
  2. Add the vanilla extract and mix well.
Assembly
  1. Place the bottom half of the cooled cake on a serving dish and spread half of the cream cheese mixture over it.
  2. Top with half of the sliced strawberries.
  3. Place the second half of the cake on top and repeat the layering with the remaining cream cheese mixture and strawberries.
  4. Chill the assembled cake in the refrigerator for 3-4 hours before serving.
  5. Drizzle with chocolate syrup just before serving if desired.

Notes

Ensure cream cheese is at room temperature for a smooth mixture. For added flavor, consider using almond extract or crushed cookies as a topping.
