Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your favorite baking pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, ground ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- In another bowl, combine melted butter, honey, and eggs. Stir until well combined.
- Add the orange juice, orange zest, and grated ginger to the wet ingredients and mix well.
- Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
Baking
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- If using the optional glaze, brush the warm cake with honey-orange glaze after baking.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Serve with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream. To store, wrap in plastic wrap and keep in an airtight container for up to three days or freeze for a month.
