For the pastry
  • 2 boxes puff pastry (4 sheets total)
  • 1 large egg for brushing
  • 1 tbsp water for egg wash
For the filling
  • Nutella measure with your heart

Method

Preparation
  1. Lay 2 sheets of thawed puff pastry upon a parchment-lined baking pan.
  2. Pinch the edges together to create one large sheet.
  3. Spread Nutella lavishly across the surface.
  4. Lay the remaining 2 sheets on top and cut into a large triangle with a robust trunk.
  5. Slice one-inch branches down each side of the tree, leaving the center intact.
  6. Twist each branch gently to create a decorative effect.
  7. Embellish the tree with the cut-out shapes made from pastry edges.
Baking
  1. Mix the egg and water in a small bowl and brush the mixture over the exposed pastry.
  2. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
Serving
  1. Allow the tree to rest briefly after baking and serve warm.

Notes

Sprinkle powdered sugar before serving for an elegant touch. Experiment with different fillings like raspberry jam or dark chocolate drizzles.
