- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, mascarpone cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and orange zest. Use an electric mixer to beat on medium speed until smooth and creamy, about 2 to 3 minutes.
- Gently fold in the mini chocolate chips using a spatula until evenly dispersed.
- Spoon the cannoli cream mixture into the mini phyllo pastry cups generously.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour to let the flavors meld.
Serving
- Before serving, dust with powdered sugar and garnish with extra mini chocolate chips and fresh mint, if desired.
Notes
For added flavor, mix in a pinch of cinnamon or swap chocolate chips for dried cherries or crushed pistachios. These cups can also be made a day in advance for enhanced flavor.
