  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar For sweetness.

  • 1/2 teaspoon orange zest Add freshness to the cream.
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips Fold in gently.
For Serving
  • 12 mini phyllo pastry cups You can find these in the frozen section.
  • extra mini chocolate chips For garnish.
  • to taste powdered sugar For dusting.
  • optional fresh mint leaves For garnish.

Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, mascarpone cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and orange zest. Use an electric mixer to beat on medium speed until smooth and creamy, about 2 to 3 minutes.
  2. Gently fold in the mini chocolate chips using a spatula until evenly dispersed.
  3. Spoon the cannoli cream mixture into the mini phyllo pastry cups generously.
  4. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour to let the flavors meld.
Serving
  1. Before serving, dust with powdered sugar and garnish with extra mini chocolate chips and fresh mint, if desired.

Notes

For added flavor, mix in a pinch of cinnamon or swap chocolate chips for dried cherries or crushed pistachios. These cups can also be made a day in advance for enhanced flavor.
