Ingredients
  

For the mascarpone mixture
  • 250 g mascarpone cheese Use fresh mascarpone for the best flavor.
  • 80 g powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 25 cl heavy cream, well-chilled Chill the cream before whipping.
For the assembly
  • 200 g ladyfingers Quickly dip them in coffee.
  • 200 ml strong coffee (cooled) Use espresso for the most authentic flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder For dusting before serving.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, whip together mascarpone cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  2. In another bowl, whip the chilled heavy cream until firm peaks form.
  3. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until combined and airy.
  4. Pour the cooled strong coffee into a shallow dish for dipping.
Assembly
  1. Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee and layer them at the bottom of serving cups.
  2. Scoop a layer of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
  3. Repeat the layers of ladyfingers and mascarpone until the cups are filled, ending with mascarpone on top.
  4. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours to chill.
Serving
  1. Before serving, dust the tops with cocoa powder and garnish as desired.

Notes

For added flavor, consider using coffee liqueur in the coffee dip. These cups can be made a day ahead to allow the flavors to meld beautifully.
