Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
For Rolling
  • 1 cup sugar for rolling

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a small bowl, stir together the flour, baking soda, and baking powder.
  3. In a larger bowl, cream together the softened butter and white sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg, followed by the vanilla and almond extracts.
  5. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients until the dough comes together.
Baking
  1. Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls and roll in sugar.
  2. Place on ungreased cookie sheets, 1 inch apart.
  3. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly golden.
  4. Let cool on wire racks.

Notes

These cookies are perfect with milk or tea and can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze them for up to three months.
