Ingredients
  

For the Pie Filling
  • 1 package 8-ounce package cream cheese, softened Ensure cream cheese is at room temperature
  • 1 package 3.4-ounce package instant vanilla pudding
  • 1/4 cup yellow or white cake mix, dry mix
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Pie Crust and Glaze
  • 4 pieces 9-inch uncooked pie crusts
  • 1 large egg (optional, for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon water (optional, for egg wash)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 2-4 tablespoons milk (for glaze) Add until desired consistency is achieved
  • to taste Christmas sprinkles (optional) For decoration

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F and prepare baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding, cake mix, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese until fluffy, then blend in the pudding mixture.
Assembly
  1. Unroll pie crusts and cut them into squares, then cut each square in half to make rectangles.
  2. Spoon filling into the center of each rectangle, fold over and seal the edges with a fork.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and water; brush over the tops of each pie.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 13-15 minutes until golden brown.
  2. For air fryer method, cook two pies at 350°F for 10 minutes, repeating until all are baked.
Glazing
  1. Whisk together powdered sugar and milk to create a glaze; drizzle over cooled pies.
  2. Optional: sprinkle with Christmas sprinkles.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Best enjoyed fresh but can be kept for a few days.
