  • 1 pre-made pie crust You can use a homemade pie crust if preferred.
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup maple syrup Use pure maple syrup for the best flavor.
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened Can substitute with vegan cream cheese for a dairy-free option.
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • to taste Whipped cream for topping (optional) Top generously before serving.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the cream cheese and maple syrup until smooth.
  3. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the heavy cream, cornstarch, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir until the mixture thickens.
  4. Add the cream cheese mixture to the saucepan and blend until smooth.
  5. Pour the creamy filling into the pre-made pie crust.
Baking
  1. Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes, or until set and golden.
  2. Allow to cool, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
Serving
  1. Serve each slice with whipped cream, if desired.

Notes

This pie can be stored in the refrigerator, covered, for up to three days. Experiment with a hint of nutmeg or cinnamon for added flavor.
