  • ½ cup salted butter Melted
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder For chocolate flavor
  • ½ teaspoon espresso powder Enhances chocolate taste
  • 14 oz sweetened condensed milk
  • 20 pieces soft caramels Use Werther’s for best flavor
  • 5 ½ cups mini marshmallows About 1 10 oz. bag
  • 5 cups Rice Krispy cereal Can substitute with other cereals
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Adds warmth to the flavor

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large pot over medium-low heat, melt the butter, cocoa powder, and espresso powder together, stirring occasionally.
  2. Whisk in sweetened condensed milk until smooth and velvety.
  3. Add caramel candies and stir until melted completely.
  4. Stir in the marshmallows, mixing until melted and smooth.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  6. Fold in the Rice Krispy cereal, ensuring every piece is coated.
Setting
  1. Line two baking pans with parchment paper and scoop out the mixture onto the parchment.
  2. Refrigerate for 30 minutes to 1 hour to hold shape.

Notes

Great for parties or cozy nights. Store in airtight container for up to three days. Work quickly when mixing in the Rice Krispy cereal.
