For the rolls
  • 1 can (8-count) refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 4 oz cream cheese, fully softened Ensure it's at room temperature for a creamy filling
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice Freshly squeezed for best flavor
  • 1/2 tsp lemon extract Optional, for enhanced lemon flavor
  • 1 whole lemon (zest)
For the glaze
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp lemon zest
  • 1 tbsp milk or cream Adjust for desired thickness

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese and granulated sugar. Mix until smooth.
  3. Add fresh lemon juice, lemon extract, and lemon zest. Stir until combined.
  4. Unroll the crescent dough triangles.
Assembly
  1. Place a heaping tablespoon of cream filling on the wide end of each triangle.
  2. Roll the triangle from the wide base, tucking in the edges carefully.
  3. Arrange the rolls seam-side down on the prepared baking tray.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, about 12-15 minutes.
Glazing
  1. In a bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, lemon juice, lemon zest, and milk until smooth.
  2. Drizzle the glaze over the warm rolls before serving.

Notes

Serve warm. Can be paired with tea or coffee. For storage, keep in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days, or refrigerate for up to 3 days.
