Pastry Base
  • 1 pack Puff Pastry (thawed)
Cheese Filling
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese (softened)
  • 1 cup Sharp Cheddar Cheese (shredded)
  • 4 oz Sliced Jalapenos (fresh or pickled)
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
For Brushing
  • 1 large Egg (beaten)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the thawed puff pastry on a floured surface and cut it into rectangles (about 3×4 inches).
  3. In a mixing bowl, blend together the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, sliced jalapenos, and garlic powder until well combined.
Assembly
  1. Place a generous dollop of the cheese mixture in the center of each pastry rectangle.
  2. Fold the pastry over to create a twist, sealing the edges with a fork.
  3. Brush the tops of the twists with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
Baking
  1. Arrange the twists on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes or until they are puffed and golden brown.
  2. Allow them to cool slightly before transferring to a serving platter.

Notes

Serve these twists with a side of cool ranch or tangy dipping sauce. For an extra kick, add diced bacon or jalapeño juice to the filling. Experiment with different cheese blends like pepper jack or mozzarella for varied flavors.
