Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- In a large nonstick skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until it’s crispy, about 8 minutes. Drain on a paper towel-lined plate and chop into pieces.
- In a large bowl, stir together the cream cheese, white cheddar, 1/2 cup of Monterey Jack, minced jalapeños, and garlic powder.
- Fold in the chopped bacon and season with salt and pepper.
Baking
- Place bagels cut side up on a baking sheet and spread each with the cream cheese mixture.
- Top with the remaining Monterey Jack cheese.
- Bake until warmed through and the cheese is melty, about 10 to 12 minutes.
- Garnish each bagel half with a slice of jalapeño and serve warm.
Notes
For more spice, add diced pickled jalapeños or hot sauce in the filling. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days; reheat in the oven.
