  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter Chill slightly before cutting for streusel.
Streusel Topping Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup Light Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Oats (Old-Fashioned) Increase oats by 1/4 cup for nut-free version.
  • 1/2 cup Chopped Pecans Toast for deeper flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon Banana Extract Optional, enhances banana aroma.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) and lightly grease a 2-quart baking dish.
  2. Mix the streusel topping by combining light brown sugar, self-rising flour, and softened butter until coarse crumbs form. Stir in oats and chopped pecans, then set aside.
  3. Prepare the filling by whisking together granulated sugar, self-rising flour, and milk until just combined.
  4. Add melted butter, mix well, and transfer to the greased baking dish.
  5. Layer sliced bananas evenly over the filling.
  6. Sprinkle the prepared streusel topping generously over the bananas.
Baking
  1. Bake for 45–50 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the filling is set.
  2. Cool slightly before serving; optionally serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Notes

For an added twist, sprinkle with cinnamon before serving. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the fridge or freeze for up to 3 months.
