Hot Chocolate Tiramisu

Ingredients
  

Mascarpone Cream
  • cups mascarpone cheese
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • tbsp vanilla paste
  • 2 cups cold heavy whipping cream Chill the mixing bowl for fluffier cream.
Ganache
  • ¾ cup semi-sweet chocolate (finely chopped)
  • ½ cup heavy cream (hot)
  • Pinch salt
Hot Chocolate Soak
  • ½ cup brewed espresso or strong coffee (hot)
  • ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chunks or chips
  • ¼ cup whole milk (hot)
Assembly
  • 1 package ladyfingers Soak quickly in hot chocolate mix.
  • Unsweetened cocoa powder for dusting Optional finishing touch.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, mix mascarpone cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth and creamy.
  2. With the mixer on low, slowly pour in the cold heavy whipping cream, then increase speed and beat until soft peaks form.
  3. For the ganache, place chopped chocolate and a pinch of salt in a bowl, pour hot heavy cream over, let sit for 5 minutes then stir until smooth.
  4. For the hot chocolate soak, combine hot espresso, chocolate chunks, and hot milk in a bowl, whisk until smooth.
Assembly
  1. Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the hot chocolate soak, then arrange in a 9x9-inch dish.
  2. Spread half of the mascarpone cream over layers of ladyfingers, repeat with more soaked ladyfingers and remaining cream.
  3. Pour ganache over the top layer, smooth gently, cover, and refrigerate for at least 8 hours.
  4. Dust with cocoa powder before serving.

Notes

Allowing to set overnight enhances flavors. For variations, add peppermint extract or orange zest.
