  • 12 oz fresh, uncooked cranberries
  • 1/4 cup green onion
  • 1-2 pieces fresh jalapeño peppers Adjust based on spice preference.
  • 2 Tbsp cilantro (optional) Adds extra color.
  • 3/4 to 1 cup sugar Adjust sweetness to taste.
  • 1 Tbsp lemon juice Adds a zingy flavor.
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 16 oz cream cheese Whipped cream cheese preferred.

Preparation
  1. Chop the cranberries in a food chopper until they reach your desired consistency.
  2. Chop the green onion, jalapeño peppers, and cilantro while enjoying the process.
  3. In a medium-sized bowl, combine the chopped cranberries, green onion, cilantro, and jalapeños.
  4. Add the sugar, lemon juice, and salt, then stir gently until everything is well blended.
  5. Cover the mixture with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight to let the flavors mingle.
  6. When ready to serve, stir the mixture and strain any excess liquid.
  7. Whip the cream cheese with a hand mixer until fluffy (about 2 minutes).
  8. Spread the whipped cream cheese in the bottom of a pie plate or 9x9 dish.
  9. Top with the cranberry mixture and chill until serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days. Adjust jalapeño quantity based on desired spice level.
