Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 36 pieces Oreo cookies, regular filling, crushed into fine crumbs
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened to room temperature Pro tip: Use full fat for best texture.
  • 12 ounces green candy melts or green colored white chocolate
  • 1-2 teaspoons coconut oil, optional for thinning the coating
  • to taste red heart sprinkles for decorating
  • to taste green sanding sugar or white chocolate for drizzle, optional
  • a pinch sea salt, optional to balance sweetness
  • to taste lollipop sticks, optional if you want to turn them into pops

Method

Preparation
  1. Crush a full package of Oreo cookies in a food processor or a zip bag with a rolling pin until fine crumbs.
  2. Add softened cream cheese to the crumbs and mix until you get a thick, even dough.
  3. Roll the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch wide, and place them on a parchment lined sheet.
  4. Chill the balls in the fridge for 20 to 25 minutes or in the freezer for 10 minutes until firm.
Coating
  1. Melt green candy melts in a microwave safe bowl in 20 to 30 second bursts, stirring after each burst.
  2. If the candy melts seem thick, stir in 1 teaspoon of coconut oil for a silky consistency.
  3. Dip each chilled ball using a fork or truffle tool, tap off excess coating, and set on parchment.
  4. Add a red heart sprinkle on top while the coating is still wet.
Setting
  1. Let the truffles set at room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 10 minutes to finish firming.

Notes

These truffles can be stored in the fridge for up to 5 days or frozen in a freezer bag for up to 2 months.
