  • 10 cups Bread (sourdough or French), cubed Choose sturdy bread for best results.
  • 1 large Onion, finely diced Adds depth of flavor.
  • 2 cups Celery, finely chopped (about 3-4 stalks) Provides a nice crunch.
  • 2 tbsp Fresh sage, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp Fresh thyme, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp Fresh rosemary, finely chopped Adjust according to taste.
  • 4 cups Low-sodium broth (chicken or vegetable) Use vegetable broth for a vegetarian option.
  • ½ cup Unsalted butter, melted Butter adds richness.
  • to taste Salt and pepper Season to your preference.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter until bubbly.
  3. Add the finely diced onion and sauté for about 5 minutes, or until they become translucent and fragrant.
  4. Toss in the finely chopped celery and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  5. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cubed bread, sautéed onions and celery, and fresh herbs.
  6. Gradually pour in the low-sodium broth, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
Baking
  1. Transfer the mixture into a greased baking dish.
  2. Bake for about 30–35 minutes until the top is golden brown and crisp.
  3. Let it sit for 10 minutes to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Experiment with different bread types and herb combinations to suit your taste. This stuffing can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator or freezer for later use.
