Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a small bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda; set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt until smooth.
- Beat in the vanilla, then add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Gradually blend in the flour mixture, then fold in the chocolate chips.
Baking
- Drop by large spoonfuls onto ungreased pans.
- Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Let cool on the pans for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.
Notes
Serve warm with milk or coffee. You can sandwich two cookies with vanilla ice cream or caramel for a special treat. Keep cooled cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days.
