Ingredients

Brownie Base
  • cups Blueberries, fresh or frozen (thawed)
  • 10 tablespoons Unsalted butter, melted
  • cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour, sifted
Glaze
  • 1 cup powdered sugar, sifted
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt

Method

Preparation
  1. Blend the blueberries into a vibrant puree using a blender.
  2. Cook the blueberry puree in a small saucepan over medium heat for 5-6 minutes until it thickens.
  3. Line an 8x8 inch baking dish with parchment paper and lightly grease it.
  4. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter and granulated sugar.
  5. Add in the eggs, vanilla extract, and blueberry puree. Whisk until well combined.
  6. In another bowl, combine the sifted flour and sea salt.
  7. Gradually fold the dry mixture into the wet mixture until just combined.
Baking
  1. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking dish and bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 20-25 minutes.
  2. Check doneness with a toothpick; it should come out clean.
Glazing
  1. While brownies cool, prepare the glaze by mixing powdered sugar, milk, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until smooth.
  2. Once cooled, cut brownies into pieces and drizzle or dip glaze over the top.

Notes

For a richer flavor, fold in additional fresh blueberries. Use high-quality chocolate for best results, and avoid overbaking for that fudgy texture.
