Dough Ingredients
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour For the churro dough
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup water For boiling
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Coating Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup sugar For coating
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon For coating
For Air Frying
  • as needed Oil spray or additional oil For spraying the air fryer basket

Method

Preparation
  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine water, sugar, and vegetable oil. Bring to a boil.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Pour the boiling mixture into the bowl and stir until a dough forms.
  3. Let the dough cool slightly, then form small balls and roll them into shapes resembling churros.
Cooking
  1. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Lightly spray the air fryer basket with oil.
  2. Place churro bites in the basket, making sure they’re not touching.
  3. Air fry for about 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
Coating
  1. Mix sugar and cinnamon in a bowl. Once churro bites are done, immediately roll them in the sugar-cinnamon mixture.
  2. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

Leftovers keep best in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. Re-crisp them in the air fryer for 2–3 minutes at 350°F (175°C) before rolling again in the cinnamon sugar. Avoid refrigerating, as it can make them tough.
