Method
Preparation
- Peel the butternut squash, remove the seeds, and cut it into 1-inch cubes, ensuring they are uniform for even cooking.
- In a large mixing bowl, toss the squash cubes with olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and dried thyme. Mix until evenly coated.
Cooking
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 3 minutes.
- Place the seasoned squash cubes in the air fryer basket in a single layer, avoiding overcrowding.
- Air fry the squash cubes for 15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, and keeping an eye on them to prevent over-browning.
- Check for doneness; the squash cubes should be golden and slightly caramelized on the edges but tender in the center. If needed, continue cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Transfer the cubes to a serving dish and enjoy them hot, optionally sprinkling with fresh herbs for added color.
Notes
Cool completely, then store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Reheat in the air fryer or a skillet before serving.
