Preparation
- In a mixing bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream on medium speed until it thickens.
- Add the granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and 2 tsp of matcha powder, and continue to beat until stiff peaks form (about 4 to 5 minutes).
- Gently fold in the mascarpone cheese until smoothly combined. Set aside.
- In a shallow bowl, whisk together the hot water and 2 tsp of matcha powder until smooth.
Layering
- Dip each ladyfinger into the matcha mixture quickly, ensuring not to soak them.
- Arrange the dipped ladyfingers in a single layer in the bottom of an 8x8 inch dish.
- Spread half of the whipped cream mixture over the ladyfingers and smooth it out.
- Add another layer of dipped ladyfingers followed by the rest of the whipped cream mixture.
- Dust the top with matcha powder using a fine mesh strainer.
Chilling and Serving
- Chill the tiramisu in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Just before serving, dust with additional matcha powder and cut into squares.
Notes
For a tropical twist, infuse the whipped cream with coconut milk. Adjust sweetness according to taste and consider adding cocoa powder for a chocolate matcha flavor.
