Ingredients
  

For the filling
  • 3 cups Cream cheese, full fat, softened
  • 2.25 cups Dulce de leche
For the cookies
  • 2 packages Chocolinas cookies (or other chocolate biscuits)
For soaking
  • Milk (or coffee, or a mix of both, for dipping)
For garnish
  • Chocolate shavings (optional) Optional, for garnish

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine cream cheese and dulce de leche until completely mixed.
  2. In a shallow bowl, pour your chosen liquid—milk, coffee, or a blend.
Assembly
  1. Dip each cookie quickly into the soaking liquid for about a second on each side.
  2. In an 8-inch square baking dish, arrange the first layer of dipped cookies.
  3. Spread the creamy filling evenly over the cookie layer.
  4. Repeat with layers of dipped cookies and creamy filling to create about five layers.
  5. Finish with a layer of cookies on top.
Chill
  1. Cover and let it chill in the fridge for at least 6 hours or overnight.
Finishing
  1. Unmold the chocotorta, spread reserved cream on top, and sprinkle with chocolate shavings if desired.
  2. Slice and serve cold.

Notes

Store leftovers in the refrigerator, covered tightly, for up to three days. Ensure cream cheese is softened for easier mixing.
