  • 0.25 cups brown sugar, packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips Adjust according to preference.
  • 0.5 cups chopped nuts (optional) Pecans or walnuts can add a lovely crunch.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the mixture, mixing until well combined.
Mixing
  1. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  2. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
  3. Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts if desired.
Baking
  1. Spread the cookie dough evenly into a greased 9-inch pie pan.
  2. Bake for about 25-30 minutes, until edges are golden brown and the center is soft.
  3. Let cool for about 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Serve warm, possibly with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of chocolate syrup. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for 2-3 days.
