  • 200 g Philadelphia cream cheese Must be at room temperature
  • 200 g butter Must be at room temperature
  • 250 g wheat flour Sifted
  • 100 g sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt
  • optional Extra sugar for sprinkling

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, add the room temperature butter together with the cream cheese and mix until smooth.
  2. Add the sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  3. Gradually add the sifted flour and salt, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  4. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 0.5 cm thick.
  5. Roll the dough into a cylinder and wrap in plastic wrap; refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  6. Slice the roll into 1 cm thick pieces and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 12-15 minutes or until lightly golden.

Notes

Store the cookies in an airtight container at room temperature to maintain their soft texture. You can freeze them for longer storage. Optional flavor enhancements include lemon zest or chocolate chips.
