Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch casserole dish.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, eggs, water, and vegetable oil. Mix well until the batter is smooth.
- Pour the cake batter into the prepared casserole dish and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Once baked, let the cake cool completely.
Making the Filling
- In another bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth.
- Add the powdered sugar and mix until well combined.
- Fold in the whipped topping until the mixture is creamy.
Assembling the Cake
- Once the cake is cool, spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the cake.
- Sprinkle the crushed Oreos generously over the cream cheese layer to create the dirt.
- Finally, place gummy worms on top for decoration.
Chilling
- Refrigerate the casserole for at least one hour before serving.
Notes
For maximum crunch, store extra crushed Oreos separately and sprinkle them over each serving. Cake can be assembled a day in advance.
