Ingredients
  

For the Cake
  • 1 box chocolate cake mix plus ingredients as per the instructions on the box
For the Pudding Layer
  • 12.8 oz hot fudge
  • 3.4 oz chocolate instant pudding mix
  • 1.75 cups milk
  • 30 pieces Oreos, crushed
  • 8 oz Cool Whip, thawed

Method
 

Cake Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (or as per the cake mix box instructions).
  2. Prepare the chocolate cake mix according to the package instructions and bake.
  3. Once baked, allow the cake to cool completely.
Pudding Layer Assembly
  1. In a separate bowl, mix the chocolate pudding mix with 1 3/4 cup of milk and whisk until thickened.
  2. Add the hot fudge to the pudding mixture and blend until smooth.
  3. Crumble the cooled cake into the bottom of a serving dish or trifle bowl.
  4. Spread half of the fudge pudding mixture over the crumbled cake and top with half of the crushed Oreos.
  5. Repeat the layers with the remaining cake, pudding mixture, and remaining Oreos.
Topping
  1. Fold the thawed Cool Whip into the last layer of pudding and spread it over the top.

Notes

For added flavor, mix in peanut butter into the pudding. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. For a fun variation, try using vanilla pudding and cookies.
