Ingredients
  

For the buns
  • 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough
  • 1 large apple, peeled and diced Sweet varieties like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp are recommended.
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts Optional, can use walnuts or pecans.
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
For the frosting
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk Adjust for desired frosting consistency.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, toss the diced apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, and nuts (if using).
  3. Open the biscuit dough and separate it into individual biscuits.
  4. Flatten each biscuit slightly and spoon some of the apple mixture onto the center.
  5. Fold the biscuit dough around the filling to seal it and shape into a bun.
  6. Place the buns in a greased baking dish and brush them with melted butter.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
Frosting
  1. While the buns bake, mix powdered sugar and milk in a small bowl to make the frosting.
  2. Once the buns are done, let them cool for a few minutes and drizzle with frosting.

Notes

Best served warm, can enjoy them as they are or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
