Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 180 degrees C (350 degrees F) and line a small square pan with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine crushed biscuits, melted butter, sugar, and optional cardamom until well mixed. Press this mixture into the prepared pan to form the base, and chill.
Pistachio Layer
- Blend raw pistachios into a coarse crumb, then mix with sweetened condensed milk, melted butter, vanilla, and a pinch of salt until thick.
- Spread the pistachio mixture over the chilled biscuit base.
Chocolate Topping
- Melt chocolate chips and butter until smooth, then pour over the pistachio layer.
- Sprinkle chopped pistachios on top before chilling in the refrigerator for at least two hours.
Serving
- Once set, lift the bars from the pan and cut into squares or bars. Serve on plates, perfect with a warm cup of chai or chilled lemonade.
Notes
Ensure pistachios are fresh. For variety, substitute half of the pistachios with almonds or hazelnuts. Experiment with different chocolate types.
