  • 1 block cream cheese, softened (8 oz) Choose high-quality cream cheese for a smoother texture.
  • 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese Use sharp cheddar for a richer flavor.
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped chives Can swap for fresh dill or basil if desired.
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped red bell pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • to taste Salt and black pepper
For Assembly
  • 48 pieces Ritz Crackers

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a medium bowl, soften cream cheese and blend it with shredded cheddar, chopped chives, and red bell pepper.
  2. Sprinkle in the garlic powder, salt, and black pepper, mixing until the filling is creamy.
Assembly
  1. Take one Ritz cracker and spread approximately a teaspoon of the cheese filling on it.
  2. Top with a second cracker to form a sandwich.
  3. Continue until all crackers are filled and topped.
  4. Garnish with chopped chives for added presentation.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Best enjoyed within a couple of days for optimal texture and flavor.
