Ingredients
  

Pastry and Filling
  • 2 sheets puff pastry, thawed
  • 1/2 cup raspberry or strawberry jam (or any holiday jam)
  • 1 cup sweetened cream cheese or mascarpone
  • 1 large egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tbsp water
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting Optional: holiday sprinkles, white chocolate drizzle

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Lay one sheet of puff pastry on the prepared tray.
  3. Spread a thin layer of cream cheese or mascarpone over the pastry.
  4. Dollop and lightly swirl the jam over the cream layer.
  5. Place the second sheet of puff pastry on top, then cut out a large Christmas tree shape, ensuring the center remains intact.
  6. Make horizontal cuts along each side to form branches, then gently twist each branch.
  7. Whisk together the egg and water for the egg wash and brush it over the pastry tree.
Baking
  1. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until puffed up and golden brown.
Finishing Touches
  1. Dust with powdered sugar and optionally add festive sprinkles or white chocolate drizzle.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for 1-2 days. For longer storage, freeze before baking and thaw before cooking.
