  • 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough (16.3 oz, 8 rounds) Choose your favorite biscuit dough.
  • 2-3 cups vegetable oil for frying Adjust depending on pot size.
  • 1 can sliced peaches in syrup (15 oz) Can substitute with fresh peaches.
  • 8 oz cream cheese For a smoother texture, bring to room temperature.
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • to taste powdered sugar (for serving) Generously dust on top before serving.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a deep pot, bring the vegetable oil to a gentle warmth over medium heat.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together cream cheese, sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Flatten each biscuit round slightly and place a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture and a few slices of peaches in the center.
  4. Fold and seal the edges of the biscuit rounds to cradle the filling.
Frying
  1. Carefully place the filled donuts into the hot oil and fry until golden brown on both sides.
  2. Remove the donuts and let them rest on paper towels to drain excess oil.
Serving
  1. Before serving, dust generously with powdered sugar.

Notes

These donuts are best enjoyed fresh. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days. Reheat in the oven to restore warmth.
