Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8x8 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, mix together the brown sugar and melted butter until smooth.
- Stir in the egg and add the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Sprinkle the extra sugar over the top.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let them cool a bit before cutting into squares.
Notes
Enjoy warm with vanilla ice cream or with tea. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, or refrigerate for up to two weeks.
