Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour Measure by spooning into the cup and leveling with a knife
  • 0.5 cups sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 tsp nutmeg
Wet Ingredients
  • 0.5 cups milk
  • 0.25 cups vegetable oil
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.25 cups butter, melted Cool slightly before adding to the egg
Glaze
  • 0.5 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 dash cinnamon Add to glaze for flavor
  • 1-2 tsp milk Add to reach drizzling consistency

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the dry ingredients: all-purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, ground cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the wet ingredients: milk, egg, vanilla extract, and melted butter until smooth.
Mixing
  1. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Fold gently to achieve a tender texture.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  2. Allow the loaf to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Glazing
  1. Whisk together the powdered sugar and a dash of cinnamon, adding milk to reach a drizzling consistency.
  2. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled loaf and let it set before slicing.

Notes

Store wrapped airtight at room temperature for 2–3 days. For longer life, freeze in slices for up to 2 months.
