  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (200g)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk (240ml)
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Add-ins
  • 1/2 cup red and green sprinkles (jimmies style) (avoid nonpareils)
Optional Toppings
  • 1 tablespoon coarse sugar
  • additional sprinkles for garnish

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line or grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt, whisking together.
  3. In a larger bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar until smooth.
  4. Add the eggs one by one, mixing well after each addition. Add the buttermilk and vanilla.
  5. Gently fold in the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, being careful not to overmix.
  6. Fold in the sprinkles gently.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Optionally, sprinkle with coarse sugar or additional sprinkles.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 to 55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  2. Allow it to cool in the pan for 10 to 15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Wrap the cooled loaf in wax paper and twine for a charming, gift-ready touch. Store the bread at room temperature for up to three days or freeze tightly wrapped for up to three months.
