  • 1.5 cups 1 ½ cups salted butter, softened
  • 1.5 cups 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 3 pieces 3 eggs
  • 1.5 tsp 1 ½ tsp cake batter flavoring
  • Pink food coloring A few drops to achieve desired hue
  • 4.5 cups 4 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 tsp 3 tsp baking powder

  • 0.25 cups 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 8 oz 8 oz cream cheese, room temperature
  • 2 tsp 2 tsp vanilla
  • 4 cups 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 pinch 1 pinch salt
  • Milk or heavy cream, to thin Add to achieve desired consistency
  • Christmas sprinkles For decoration

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
  2. In a bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
  3. Add the eggs, cake batter flavoring, and pink food coloring, mixing until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the all-purpose flour and baking powder, mixing until incorporated.
  5. Divide the dough into 3-tablespoon portions and flatten slightly.
  6. Place the rounds on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes until the centers are puffed and the gloss has faded.
Frosting
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, cream cheese, and vanilla until smooth.
  2. Gradually mix in the powdered sugar and a pinch of salt.
  3. Add milk or heavy cream to reach the desired frosting consistency.
  4. Fill a piping bag with frosting and pipe it onto the cooled cookies, beginning in the center and swirling outward.
  5. Top immediately with Christmas sprinkles.

  1. Serve the cookies warm on a festive platter with hot cocoa or your favorite holiday beverage.
Storage
  1. Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature, optionally including a slice of bread for added moisture.

Notes
