  • 1 cup Dark Brown Sugar
  • 1 cup Butter Can use salted or unsalted butter.
  • 12 oz Chocolate Chips Can substitute with white chocolate or caramel chips.
  • 1 pack Saltine Crackers Could also use graham crackers or potato chips for variation.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Line a 9x13-inch pan with foil, extending edges for easy removal.
  3. Place a single layer of Saltine crackers in the pan.
Cooking
  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine butter and dark brown sugar, stirring until combined.
  2. Bring to a rolling boil and let bubble for 3 minutes.
  3. Pour the butter mixture over the crackers in the pan.
  4. Bake in the oven for about 7 minutes.
  5. Remove pan from the oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot mixture.
  6. Spread melted chocolate with a spatula for an even layer.
Cooling and Serving
  1. Place the pan in the refrigerator to chill until set.
  2. Once set, break into pieces and serve on a platter.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. For longer storage, refrigerate, allowing to come to room temperature before serving.
