Method
 

Preparation
  1. Bake the chocolate cake according to package instructions and let it cool.
  2. Slice the cooled chocolate cake into layers.
Assembly
  1. In a trifle dish, layer chocolate cake, peanut butter, banana slices, and whipped cream.
  2. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with whipped cream on top.
  3. Garnish with chocolate shavings if desired.
Chill
  1. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.

Notes

For serving, use a long spoon to scoop down through every layer. Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator, best eaten within 48 hours.
