Ganache
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream

Method
 

Preparation of Cream Cheese Mixture
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese with 1 cup of powdered sugar and blend using a stand or hand mixer until unified.
  2. Introduce the mint extract and green gel food color, mixing until a fresh color is achieved.
  3. Gradually fold in the remaining powdered sugar until harmoniously blended.
Shaping the Buttons
  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Scoop out a teaspoon of dough, roll into a ball, and repeat until all dough is used.
  3. Create indentations in each ball's center using a spoon or your fingers.
  4. Refrigerate the balls for one hour.
Making the Ganache
  1. In a bowl, combine chocolate chips with heavy whipping cream and heat until it simmers.
  2. Stir until the chocolate is fully melted and combined.
  3. Let ganache thicken in a Ziploc bag until yogurt-like consistency.
Filling the Buttons
  1. Pipe the ganache into the center of each button.
  2. Chill again until set, approximately one hour.
Serving and Storing
  1. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.

Notes

Consider decorating with crushed peppermint or cocoa powder before chilling for a decorative touch. These can be frozen for up to three months.
