  • 2.5 cups chocolate ice cream Use good, full-fat chocolate ice cream.
  • 0.5 cup half and half cream For a thicker shake, start with a cold blender.
  • 0.33 cup chocolate syrup Add more for sweetness if desired.
Optional Toppings
  • to taste canned whipped topping For topping.
  • to taste tablespoons extra chocolate syrup Drizzle for decoration.
  • to taste tablespoons chocolate sprinkles For garnish.
  • 1 Maraschino cherry with stem For garnish.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Blend the chocolate ice cream, half and half, and chocolate syrup just until smooth and thick.
  2. Drizzle chocolate syrup inside two milkshake glasses.
  3. Pour the milkshake evenly into the glasses.
  4. Top generously with whipped topping.
  5. Finish with extra syrup, sprinkles, and a cherry on top.

Notes

Milkshakes are happiest when fresh. If you have leftovers, store in an airtight container and freeze for up to 24 hours. Thaw slightly before serving and whisk or blend to restore creaminess.
