Ingredients

For the chocolate cups
  • 12 oz Melted milk chocolate Use a quality chocolate for the best flavor.
  • 6 units Disposable cups Choose an appropriate size for serving.
For the filling
  • 2 tsp Cocoa powder Adjust to taste.
  • 1 cup Mini marshmallows For topping.
  • 4 units Candy canes Use as stirring sticks.
  • 1 tsp Granulated sugar For decorative topping.

Method

Preparation of Chocolate Cups
  1. Gently melt the chocolate in a double boiler or microwave on low power until smooth.
  2. Pour the melted chocolate into the disposable cups, swirling gently to coat the insides. Let it set, and repeat to create a thicker layer.
  3. Once the chocolate has set, carefully remove the cups.
Assembly
  1. Pour more melted chocolate into each cup and insert a candy cane as a stirring stick, then let it dry completely.
  2. Sprinkle cocoa powder into each cup and top with mini marshmallows. Drizzle more melted chocolate over the marshmallows to hold them in place.
  3. Decorate with melted chocolate and granulated sugar. Optionally, dip the cups back into the chocolate for extra sweetness.
Serving
  1. Place each cup in a mug of hot milk, let it sit, and stir to enjoy instant hot chocolate bliss.

Notes

These cups are best enjoyed fresh, but can be stored in an airtight container for a couple of days in a cool, dry place. For a twist, use dark or white chocolate, add vanilla extract, or sprinkle crushed peppermint candies on top.
