  • 10 ounces maraschino cherries with stems, drained and patted dry Ensure cherries are well-dried
  • 2 1/4 cups powdered sugar, sifted
  • 4 tablespoons salted butter, softened Should be at room temperature
  • 2 tablespoons light corn syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract Adjust based on preference
For the Chocolate Coating
  • 12 ounces chocolate almond bark, broken into smaller chunks

Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, gently combine the sifted powdered sugar, softened butter, light corn syrup, pure vanilla extract, and almond extract.
  2. Stir until a pliable dough forms.
  3. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  4. Scoop and roll the sweet dough into small balls, then flatten into perfect circles.
  5. Envelop each cherry with the dough and place them on the parchment-lined surface.
Chocolate Coating
  1. Melt the chocolate almond bark in a microwave-safe bowl, heating in one-minute intervals and stirring until smooth.
  2. Dunk each covered cherry into the melted chocolate, allowing excess to drip away.
  3. Place them back on the parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. Drizzle any leftover chocolate over the coated cherries if desired.

Notes

For best results, store in an airtight container in the refrigerator. These treats are best enjoyed within a week. You can use fresh cherries as well, but make sure to dry them well.
