Preparation
- Combine rolled oats with hot milk in a bowl and let soak for about 10 minutes.
- Mash the ripe bananas with a fork and whisk in the eggs until smooth and creamy.
- Stir in cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder to the banana mixture.
- Finely chop the walnuts and set aside.
- Mix soaked oats into the banana-cocoa mixture and gently fold in the chopped walnuts.
Baking
- Preheat oven to 360°F (180°C).
- Pour batter into a baking dish and bake for about 40 minutes.
- Melt dark chocolate in a microwave or double boiler.
- Once the delight is done baking, drizzle melted chocolate over the top while still warm.
- Let cool for about 10 to 15 minutes before slicing.
Notes
Riper bananas yield a sweeter delight. Be careful not to over-mix for a fluffy texture. You can experiment with spices like cinnamon for added warmth. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
